Otto Bremer Trust Invests $200,000 in Dodge Nature Center

The Thomas Irvine Dodge Nature Center (DNC) announced it had received a $200,000 investment from the Otto Bremer Trust (OBT), St. Paul, to improve community health and wellness through increased accessibility to nature for the benefit of communities in the greater Twin Cities.
“This investment provides opportunities for everyone to experience the outdoors as a public resource just minutes from both downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis,” said Jason Sanders, Executive Director at DNC.
DNC is a privately funded nonprofit, established in 1967, that sustains green space for the public spanning over 460 acres at four properties in West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, and Cottage Grove, MN. Hundreds of volunteers, including corporate employee groups, contribute time and talent to ensure this community resource is sustained each year. DNC is committed to being a community resource accessible to people of all backgrounds.
The center’s land provides an environment that offers programs, community events, and a nature preschool that fosters civic and social participation. The Otto Bremer Trust investment will help maintain trails, support wildlife ambassadors who promote species conservation, and programming for adults, families, and pre-K children.
“A critical part of our commitment to supporting communities is providing opportunities to enjoy healthy activities that are available to all,” said Daniel C. Reardon, co-CEO and Trustee, OBT. “This investment makes time in nature accessible to everyone.”
The Otto Bremer Trust, based in St. Paul, is a private charitable trust established in 1944 by founder Otto Bremer, a successful banker and community business leader. OBT’s mission is to invest in people, places, and opportunities in the Upper Midwest. Since its inception, OBT has invested more than $700 million in organizations throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin. Visit ottobremer.org.
