Federation Explores Community Air Monitoring Project
The West 7th/Fort Road Federation is looking for 10-15 residents to join a community air monitoring project workgroup. Workgroup members will work with a team of air quality scientists to help determine local air quality monitoring priorities and objectives. Participants will receive a gift card for their time. This effort is part of a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency grant that is bringing air quality monitoring equipment and education to the community.
The first workgroup session, held at Palace Rec. Center on May 20, was dedicated to acquainting workgroup members with the project, going over introductory air quality information and existing data and discussing community air quality concerns and sources of interest. The second session will be dedicated to reviewing a draft air monitoring plan and providing feedback, as well as determining siting locations. Feedback on a final air monitoring plan will also be requested.
The second session will be held online and will be held the week of June 16-20.
