Saint Paul Regional Water Services has released its 2026 Water Quality Report, detailing the sources, treatment and testing of drinking water supplied to about 450,000 people in St. Paul and surrounding communities.
The annual report is required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and reviewed by the Minnesota Department of Health. It summarizes water-quality monitoring conducted throughout the year and explains how the utility treats water before distributing it to customers.
Regional Water Services said its drinking water continues to meet federal and state standards. General Manager Racquel Vaske said the report is intended to provide transparency about the utility’s testing and treatment processes.
The system serves St. Paul, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Maplewood, Mendota Heights and West St. Paul, along with parts of Mendota, Lilydale, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake and Newport. It also supplies wholesale water to Little Canada, Roseville and Arden Hills.
The utility draws its source water from the Mississippi River and treats it before distribution through the regional system. The report includes information about regulated substances, testing results and steps customers can take to understand household water quality.
Residents of apartments, condominiums and other multiunit buildings may not receive a water bill directly and therefore may not receive a mailed notice about the report. The utility is encouraging renters, community organizations and other interested residents to review it online.
The report is available at stpaul.gov/waterquality. Printed copies may be requested from Saint Paul Regional Water Services customer service at 651-266-6350. The same number can be used for questions about the report or the regional water system.
