Solidarity Street Gallery

Carrying theme “resilient generations” the third annual Solidary Street Gallery, slated for Sept. 9-10 Along Payne Avenue on the East Side, will be centered around our Southeast Asian communities – and other displaced groups. The festival is inviting artists, performers, writers and other creatives to share works that reflect on the immigrant experiences of being forced from a homeland, often under traumatic circumstances; of rebuilding lives in a new diaspora home; and of establishing a new identity while revitalizing culture, language and history across generations. The festival is also encouraging contributions that speak more broadly to the topics of trauma, adopting, healing and rebuilding lives, families, and communities. Finally, the festival is looking to salute the resilience of our community at large as we all long to emerge from the COVID pandemic and return to some form of normalcy.
