Not In Our Neighborhood

Landmark Center presents a play that explores a little-known instance of racist violence, in St. Paul’s Groveland Park neighborhood. African American attorney William Francis — later the U.S. Ambassador to Liberia — and his civil rights activist wife, Nellie, planned to move from the Rondo neighborhood to a home on Sargent Ave. Their plans were met with petitions, demonstrations, death threats, and eventually two separate cross burnings. Buy tickets online at or in the Landmark Center office, suite 404. $10. Info: 651-292-1239. Feb. 14-16, 7 p.m. in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium.
