Food, Fun at the 34th Annual Czech and Slovak Festival
The sights and smells of the Czech and Slovak people were on full display September 24, 2023 at C.S.P.S. Hall, 383 W. Michigan St., for the 34th Annual Czech and Slovak Festival. A celebration of the region’s culture, the event is put on annually by Czech and Slovak Sokol of Minnesota, a 105 year-old group dedicated to maintaining Czech and Slovak culture in the state.
In addition to traditional dance, music, festive clothing and food, this year’s festivities featured a visit by Czech journalist Ondrej Kundra and an exhibit about his book, “Vendulka: Flight to freedom: A Story of Czechoslovakia,” chronicling a Czech Jewish person’s story during the Holocaust.
