Adult 55+ Programs & Events

Due to funding changes, providing free events is no longer feasible, and a small charge has been added to programs. With a $30 yearly membership, these activities are free. If costs are a concern please speak with a Seniors staff member for ways to help.

Fare for All Discounted Grocery Distribution: 12/6,10am-noon.Fare for All partners with local communities to provide affordable and nutritious foods. Low-cost food packages allow individuals and families to stretch their monthly food budgets. Wellness Programs

Fit and Fabulous Exercise Class: Mon Wed & Fri, 9-9:45am, $10 per month. [May be covered under Silver & Fit program; check your insurance.] 

Heavy-Weight Yoga: Wednesdays 10:45-11:45 am. $10 per class.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan: Thursdays 9-10am. $12 per class.

Gym Walking: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:45-10:30am. Free.

Foot Care Clinic: 12/5, 9:30am-2:30pm — call for appointment; cost is $30.

Caregiving Services: Contact Holly Brackett, ext. 206.

Block Nurse Program: 65+ in-home nursing & health aide through Recover Health. Medicare certified.

Adult 55+ Programs

Fiberazzi: Knitting & Crocheting Group Tuesdays: 1-3pm, cost $1. Free for members.

Family Law: 12/11, 4-5pm. Dave Burns of Dave Burns Law Office, LLC provides FREE one-time consultations on the second Wednesday of each month to assist with family law issues such as divorce and child custody. Clients must preregister and will be served in order of arrival. Call 651-298-5493 to pre-register.

Health Insurance Counseling: 12/12, 10am-noon. Call Senior Link Age for appointment at 1-800-333-2433.

Retirement Income & Pension Counseling: 12/17, 11am-noon. Pre-registration required.

Ask the Lawyer: 12/19, 3-4pm provided by Melanie Liska of Tarrant & Liska.

Lunch ’n Bingo: 12/19, 11:30am-1pm. REGISTER BY 12/12. Rooster’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, coleslaw and dessert: $7 lunch, $1 bingo cards. Vegetarian options available.

Cribbage:Mondays, 12:30-3pm; cost $1. Free for members.

500/65 Cards: Fridays, 12:30-3pm; 

Movie & Popcorn: 12/18, 12:15-2:15pm, The Christmas Chronicles (PG, 2019, comedy/family). Cost $1 without membership.

Special Programs

Enjoy a delicious roast beef meal, dancing and conversation with old friends and new. Live music with the Golden Tones! Door prizes. Cost $8 perp person. Square Dancing: Mondays, 6:15-8pm. Put on your dancing shoes; no experience necessary and no partner required. Open to all ages, so bring your friends and family. Cost $5 per session (FIRST TWO ARE FREE).

TED Talks: 12/5, 11:30am-1pm; topic Slowing Down.Each month we watch a collection of pre-selected TED Talk videos with a common theme and then have time for discussion. Bring your lunch.

NEW: Bridge: Mondays, 12:30-3:30pm. CALLING All BRIDGE PLAYERSin the neighborhood. Weekly bridge in the Seniors’ Lounge. $1 for non-members.

Coloring Jam: 12/10, 10-11:30am, cost $1 without membership. Free for members. Coloring is no longer just for kids. Researchers have recommended the calming benefits of coloring, as it helps reduce anxiety, creates focus and releases creativity. Come to our open coloring sessions for adults. Materials available, or bring your own favorites.

Smart Driver: 12/11, 12:30-4:30pm. AARP four-hour refresher course. Call to reserve a spot: 651-298-5493.

Mobile Menders: 12/16, 5:30-7:30pm. Provides free sewing and mending services on site.

NEW Meals on Wheels: Fresh, low-sodium, diabetic-friendly meals delivered Monday through Friday by a friendly volunteer. Flexible menu options and delivery schedules.

Youth Activities

Community Kids After School Program – free!Serves students in grades K-10, Mon.-Fri., 2:15-6:00pm. Homework help, tutoring in reading and math, social skills, enrichment activities, STEM, sports and fitness, field trips, healthy snacks. Volunteer Opportunities

Meals on Wheels delivery: Once a month, 11am to noon.

Friendly visitors needed: Visit seniors in our neighborhood who need companionship.

Drivers needed: To occasionally bring senior neighbors to medical appointments, grocery shopping, other small errands.

PLEASE NOTE: When St. Paul Public Schools are closed due to weather, West 7thSenior Programs will also be closed.
