Ward 2 Office Welcomes New Legislative Aide
The Office of Council President Rebecca Noecker is thrilled to welcome Megan Jekot as the new Legislative Aide for Ward 2. Megan joined the team on February 10 and has already made a strong impact with her energy and experience.
Before coming to City Hall, Megan served as Advocacy and Systems Change Program Manager at St. Paul Promise (Amherst H. Wilder Foundation), where she spent over three years working alongside families and scholars to transform learning systems, improve educational outcomes and create opportunities from cradle to career in St. Paul.
Originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Megan moved to Minnesota to attend St. Olaf College, earning a degree in Political Science with a concentration in Race and Ethnic Studies and an emphasis in Social Work. Since graduating in 2016, she has held policy roles with the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the City of Minneapolis and gained experience in communications and development at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy.
Megan now lives in St. Paul with her partner and their rescue pup, Cider. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local, regional and state parks with her family in their camper van, training for her next half-marathon with Run Minnesota and tackling home improvement projects. She also loves crafting her next State Fair entry and immersing herself in a wide range of books, magazines, and newspapers in her downtime.
Please welcome Megan to the Ward 2 team, she can be reached at [email protected].
