Mississippi Market 40th Anniversary Block Party

Mississippi Market Natural Foods Co-op started small in 1979 and now comprises three vibrant locations, a membership upwards of 18,000, and many educational and community programs that complement its provision of natural, health-building food.
To celebrate four decades, a summer block party will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 3-7 p.m. at the co-op’s West 7th store (1500 West Seventh). Co-op member-owners and shoppers continue making it possible for Mississippi Market to provide local, healthful, delicious food to everyone in St. Paul. This free, family-friendly event will feature live music, tasty food and drinks for sale, free food samples from local farmers and vendors, kids’ activities, and more to celebrate this momentous occasion.
The event features live music, food truck offerings for purchase, local beer for sale, and free samples from Izzy’s Ice Cream, Peace Coffee, Organic Valley, Ferndale Market, and Brake Bread. A co-op staff artist tent offers one-of-a-kind artwork for sale. The kids’ activities include arcade games and prizes, a bouncy castle and photo booth, and face painting.
