Keg and Case files for bankruptcy

Developer Craig Cohen filed for bankruptcy April 19, citing more than $11 million in outstanding debts.

In the filing, Cohen named Keg & Case Market LLC, Keg & Case Park LLC, Rathskeller Holding LLC and Schmidt Keg House Holding LLC as codebtors.

The Market was repossessed last November by MidWestOne Bank, which said Cohen defaulted on over $5 million in loans to the lender.

Keg and Case opened to much fanfare in 2018 with over 20 businesses, but was hit especially hard during the pandemic, losing several high profile tenants, and has failed to regain its original allure. Keg and Case currently has three permanent occupants of the building, Five Watt Coffee, Sana CBD and Starcade.

The building is still operating and plans have not been announced to close at this time.
