Irvine Park Fountain out for repairs
If you’ve been to Irvine Park, 251 Walnut St., recently, you’ve probably noticed a glaring omission from the picturesque square – the historic fountain is no longer there.
But fret not, because the fountain will be back this spring better than ever. It has been taken into storage for the winter for some much needed repairs.
The Historic Irvine Park Association, in partnership with the City of St. Paul, raised over $120,000 crumbling metal work on the 45 year-old fountain, as well as to make some electric and lighting repairs below ground.
Historic Irvine Park is still raising funds to make improvements to the park hardscape surfaces, especially the crumbling stairs leading to the fountain.
