Grid 11 Special Election
HDC is hosting a special election for Grid 11 residents and businesses to select a representative to join our board and advocate for their wishes. Grid 11 in Highland Park is located between Davern and Alton across from Aldi/W. 7th to the river. Grid 11 residents and business representatives can vote online Thursday, September 5 at 7 p.m. to Tuesday, September 10 at 10 p.m. We will accept mail-in ballots until Wednesday, September 11 at 5 p.m. A link the ballot and candidate info will be posted on our website in early September.
Citywide recycling drop off and assistance for seniors
Saturday, September 14 at 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the State Fair Grounds
No cost to drop off bikes, electronics, flattened cardboard, textiles, mattresses, scrap metal or small engines. Free paper shredding. Fees apply for appliances and tires.
HDC can transport items between 8:30 a.m. and noon for seniors who need assistance bringing unwanted items to the recycling site; call 651-695-4005 or email [email protected] by September 11 to schedule a pickup time. Spaces are limited.

All HDC meetings are held in-person at the Highland Park Community Center (1978 Ford Parkway) with the option to join online via Zoom, unless noted. Updates about meeting locations, agendas and links to join online are available at highlanddistrictcouncil.org/calendar approximately one week prior to each meeting
