Community Spotlight

Each month, the Highland District Council will feature a Highland Park resident, business or organization. Our goal with this initiative is to build community and showcase the good work happening around us. The November Community Spotlight honoree: Wandering Leaf Brewing Company. Wandering Leaf is Highland’s newest brewery. December’s Community Spotlight honoree: Soul Lao, a new restaurant in Sibley Plaza on West 7th Street. Magical Holiday Experience on December 16

Stop by the Highland Park Community Center on Saturday, December 16 between 1 and 3 p.m. for a magical holiday experience. Take a photo with Santa, turn your photo into a holiday ornament, write letters to Santa, play games and more. Lunch will be provided. Free.

Food scraps open 24/7 throughout winter, shoveling help wanted

The food scraps/organics drop-off site in Highland near Highland Parkway and Snelling Avenue will remain open 24/7 this winter. We’re always looking for help from neighbors to help shovel to keep the space accessible after snowfalls. Contact us at 651.695.4005 or info@highlanddistrictcouncil.org to volunteer.

Recycle holiday lights and cords at St. Paul Public Libraries

Holiday lights and cords cannot be put in your city recycling cart. Recycle them at any St. Paul Public Library or St. Paul Regional Water Services through January 22, 2024. Look for the “Holiday Light Recycling” drop off bin. List of accepted and prohibited items at stpaul.gov/recyclingholidaylights.
