Advisory Committee Formed to Update St. Paul’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan
Twenty-one people were selected to assist the St. Paul Climate Justice Advisory Board (CJAB) in its work to update the city’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan.
Adopted in December 2019, the Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) is an ambitious framework that guides the city’s efforts to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and implements strategies to reduce vulnerabilities for a more equitable and resilient St. Paul. A key recommendation in the CARP is to update the plan every five years to track progress and ensure the latest innovations, technologies, and best practices are incorporated into implementation.
The city established CJAB in 2021 to advise the Mayor and City Council on the development of policies and programs related to the CARP. The CJAB’s focus will be to ensure that the costs and benefits of new programs in clean energy, energy efficiency, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and climate resilience and adaptation, are equitably distributed and address the challenges faced by our most vulnerable populations and neighborhoods.
