Recycling drop off assistance for seniors on October 4

Our volunteers are available on Saturday, October 4 to assist seniors who need help transporting unwanted items to the recycling site. Call 651-695-4005 or email [email protected] for more information and to schedule a pickup time. We can take electronics, hazardous materials, and metals. Spaces are limited.

District Councils’ 50th anniversary celebration on October 8

Join a city-wide District Council celebration of 50 years of neighborhood leadership, connection, and community impact in Saint Paul on Wednesday, October 8, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at City House. This event is open to all—residents, neighbors, district council volunteers (past, present and future), and community partners. Bring your family or a friend and be part of the celebration! Hosted by the City of St. Paul.
 

Highland Park/West 7th Neighborhood Clean Up on October 11

Meet at Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant on Saturday, October 11 at 10 a.m., then disperse to collect litter in the neighborhood. Equipment provided. Free brunch will be for volunteers after the clean-up. For more information, email [email protected] or call 651.695.4005.

Opportunity for students to get involved

Students in grades 11, 12 or college and who live or go to school in Highland Park are invited to join us as a Student Liaison October 2025 through June 2026. 

As a liaison with the council, you will learn more about city government, transportation, development, and community engagement while providing us with valuable insight into what’s most important for the next generation of Highland residents.

Riverfront issues town hall meeting on October 15

River issues community listening session with Mayor Carter on Wednesday, October 15, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Highland Park Community Center. Hear about Mayor Carter’s vision for the Mississippi River in St. Paul and ask questions about the issues facing riverfront neighborhoods.
