Express Bike Shop Celebrates 30 Years

Express Bike Shop, a fixture on Selby Avenue and a social enterprise of Keystone Community Services, is celebrating 30 years of community impact this year.

They kicked off their 30th anniversary with a free, family-friendly party on  September 6 to honor its three decades of providing affordable, high-quality refurbished bikes to the community while giving local teens valuable first-job experience.

Since 1995, hundreds of young people have learned hands-on skills in bike repair, customer service, inventory, and small business operations through Express Bike Shop’s apprenticeship program.

“This milestone is about so much more than bikes,” said Adero Riser Cobb, President and CEO of Keystone Community Services. “For 30 years, Express Bike Shop has been a place where young people gain confidence and skills that set them up for success. We’re excited to celebrate with our neighbors, customers and supporters who have made this journey possible.”
