Women’s Drum Center is excited to announce the launch of a new “Skill Builder” series. The series will offer workshops focused on specific skills. The first one will be on Friday, March 7, 6pm to 9pm: Dan Engebretson’s West African Solo and Improv Workshop. Playing a solo on your drum is a way to musically express yourself in the moment. In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of solo improvisation: where and how to start a solo, laying down a foundation, adapting to the rhythm, letting go of the fear of soloing, how to wrap up your solo.
