The Community Reporter

The Community Reporter, a nonprofit news source, has been serving St. Paul’s West End since 1971. We distribute 14,000 copies of our free newspaper to every house and apartment, along with almost 200 gathering spaces in the neighborhoods along West 7th St. from downtown St. Paul to Fort Snelling. We cover the people, places and happenings of the West End, of by and for the people of our community.

The Community Reporter’s mission goes well beyond reporting news which impacts the community. Born in the 1970’s out of a number of West 7th organizations’ desire to effectively communicate with area residents, the Community Reporter sees itself as a vehicle for and agent of community building in St. Paul.

We partner closely with long-established community groups to keep residents up-to-date with the happenings in their back yard.

In addition to producing a monthly newspaper, we also act as fiscal agent for several organizations, including Schmidt ARTS, Little Bohemia Neighborhood Association and St. Paul Moms Demand Action.

Our editorial deadline is the third Monday of each month. All articles and letters should be typed. Photos must be in tif, jpeg or eps format and at least 200 dpi. The editor reserves the right to edit any article or letter submitted.
