SUMMARY:Hazel Belvo: For Love
DESCRIPTION:November 4\, 2023–May 24\, 2024. Minnesota Museum of American Art \nHazel Belvo is a significant American artist\, art educator and feminist leader. This series of exquisite artworks\, representing couples in positions of intimacy\, tenderness\, and reciprocity\, began in 1967 as a counter to the dry and shame-inducing sex education her son was receiving in school and continued until 1982. The Love Drawings are about so much more than intimacy and pleasure\, although these are important themes. They are exquisite representations of loving connections\, tenderness\, and reciprocity—a call for love and respect instead of war and violence\, dignity and joy instead of shame and insensitivity.   \nLearn more at mmaa.org/hazel-belvo-for-love

SUMMARY:15th Minnesota Cuban Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:15th Minnesota Cuban Film Festival \nFeb. 28-April 4. MSP Film Society at The Main Theatre. \nMinnesota Cuban Film Festival (MCCF) is very proud to announce its 15th year of bringing some of the best films produced in Cuba to Minnesota. MCFF strives to feature films that address the achievements and challenges of the Cuban people. The festival highlights diverse and challenging films of social change\, human struggle and the boldness of the human spirit. The goal is to offer Minnesotans a chance to learn about and appreciate Cuban films and culture. It serves as a reminder of the onerous burden that the blockade inflicts on the Cuban people\, which must end with the re-establishment of respectful diplomatic relations. \nThe opening night of the festival is Wednesday\, 2/28. Thereafter the festival will be on Thursdays through 4/4. This year’s film lineup offers a mix of fiction and documentary features. The 15th. Minnesota Cuban Film Festival is organized by the Minnesota Cuba Committee\, with the collaboration of MSP Film Society\, and ICAIC (Cuban Film Institute) \nFor tickets and a full listing of films\, visit mspfilm.org/minnesota-cuban-film-festival

SUMMARY:Frost/Nixon
DESCRIPTION:April 12-21. $25-$30. Landmark Center.\nFollowing Richard Nixon’s fall from grace\, resignation from the Presidency\, and subsequent pardon\, the American people are left searching for answers. The truth the nation so desperately needs may come in the most unlikely place – a “puff piece” interview with lowbrow British talk show host David Frost. The two titans meet in a surprising battle of words and wits.  \nTHEATREX is performing FROST/NIXON in a historic courtroom at Landmark Center\, a former federal courthouse. This gives the audience a front row seat to one of the most pivotal stories in American politics. Richard Nixon never got his day in court to answer for his crimes. We thought we’d change that. \n  \nLearn more and tickets at landmarkcenter.org/history-play.
