The series will offer workshops focused on specific skills. The first one will be on Friday\, March 7\, 6pm to 9pm: Dan Engebretson’s West African Solo and Improv Workshop. Playing a solo on your drum is a way to musically express yourself in the moment. In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of solo improvisation: where and how to start a solo\, laying down a foundation\, adapting to the rhythm\, letting go of the fear of soloing\, how to wrap up your solo.
