Greg Ekbom celebrates 50 years of taking it “Day by Day”

Greg Ekbom looked uncomfortable at Day by Day Cafe, the restaurant he founded located at 477 West 7th St., on November 27. That’s because, instead of him being there for neighbors and friends like he has been for the past 48 years at the West 7th diner, the people were there for him.

November 26th marked Ekbom’s 50th year of sobriety, and his 48th year of business, and the restaurant was fast filling with people to celebrate.

Overnight Winter Warming Spaces open in St. Paul for residents facing homelessness

Ramsey County has officially opened its first Winter Warming Space of the season in St. Paul for single adults and couples. Additionally, on Dec. 1, another St. Paul Winter Warming Space will open designed specifically for families and youth ages 14 to 24. 

The Warming spaces will be hosted at the St. Paul Opportunity Center, 422 Dorothy Day Place, and Central Baptist Church, 420 N. Roy St. The Opportunity Center will host single adults and couples while the Central Baptist Church location, opening on December 1, is specifically for families and youth.
