Posted November 14, 2009 Open School’s talented theatre troupe begins the 2009-2010 season on November 19 with its version of Shakespeare's "The Tempest," an enchanting, magical play focusing on imagination, nature, love, and forgiveness. This production also features the debut of Open Theatre's new staging technology. Photo below: Prospera (Julia Iwaszek) consults her book of magic as her sprite Ariel (Candice Fuller) looks on.
Performances of "The Tempest" are set for 7 p.m. on November 19 and 20 and December 2, 3, and 4. Tickets cost $3 for students and seniors and $5 for adults, with the exception of December 2. Admission for that night's performance is by donation of a nonperishable food item or a cash contribution to a local food shelf.
Café tables are available for the November 20 and December 4 performances and will feature tasty desserts from the Stockholm Pie Company of Stockholm, Wisconsin. Tables for four people include up-front seating with desserts and beverages served to your table at intermission – all for one $50 contribution.
