West 7th Community Center, 265 Oneida St., offers a variety of services for area residents. Some programs are for seniors only; others are for families, children and/or adults of all ages. NOTE new front desk hours:  8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. CENTER CLOSED December 25-27 and January 1-3. School Release Day Programs. From 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the following days:  December 23--downtown ice rink; December 28--Macy's holiday display; December 29--St. Francis Bowling Lanes; December 30--Como park tubing and sledding. MUST register by calling (651) 298-5493, x211.
Teen Girls' Circle. Open to area high school girls. From 2:30-4:30 p.m., December 9. Register by calling Jane Gregerson, (651) 298-5493 x215. Circle resumes January 13.

PALACE RECREATION CENTER ACTIVITIES  FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

Parks and Recreation Fees Assistance Program:  The city invites families to apply for assistance for sports, classes and activities program fees for their children. Contact Andy Rodriguez, (651) 266-6434, for information.

School Release Day Programs:
Spend time at Palace having fun in a positive and safe place during those no-school days. Children must sign in but are free to come and go. For children ages 6-12; 1-5 p.m. December 28, 29 & 30.
Ice rink skating for youth of all ages Call for times.
Ice skating lessons for children ages 5-8. Starting in January (dates follow); learn fundamentals of skating, forward and backwards skating, stopping and falling safely. Cost $20.
Beginners ice skating:  From 11-11:45 a.m., four sessions starting January 16. 
Beginners-some experience ice skating: From noon-12:45 p.m., four sessions starting January 16. 
Yu-Gi-Oh. For all ages; 6-8 p.m. Thursdays. Ongoing registration. Cost $1/week.
